Here’s an exhibition that will put stars in your eyes: Saudi Towards Space is taking off, and celebrates the Kingdom’s space mission. The exhibition takes place in King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh from 21 May to 1 June, and will then travel the country.

Saudi Towards Space is a fun-filled, family-friendly exhibition, which gives visitors the rare opportunity to learn about outer space. The exhibition aims to inspire the next generation to work in engineering, science and technology.
Saudi Towards Space may be the closest you’ll get to travelling into the stratosphere, as you can hop on board virtual flight simulators. Look out for live experiments, shows and workshops. Plus, the exhibition then travels to Dhahran’s Ithra, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, and Jeddah’s Al Asdaf Plaza.
Saudi Towards Space has come at a monumental time in Saudi Arabia’s history. The Kingdom recently sent its first female into space. Rayyanah Barnawi rocketed off from the Kennedy Space Center on 22 May, sending waves of excitement across the region. She embarked on a journey to the International Space Station as part of the AX-2 space mission.
The news also follows Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi’s space mission. He became the first Arab to undertake a long-duration mission and spacewalk. He is part of Crew-6 on the International Space Station. The crew consists of Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, NASA’s Mission Commander Stephen Bowen, and Pilot Warren Hoburg.
