This royal abode will soon be transformed into a luxurious hotel.

Saudi Arabia has a whole lot of grandeur and history — and now, a piece of this remarkable Arabian heritage is about to undergo a transformation. The Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund has exciting plans to turn the historical Red Palace in Riyadh into an ultra-luxury hotel. Now that’s a royal makeover.

The Red Palace

The Red Palace, initially constructed in 1943 by Saudi Arabia’s founding father, King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, was a gift to his son, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This palace played a pivotal role in the formation of the Kingdom. It was also an architectural milestone as it was the first building in the country to be constructed with reinforced concrete, marking a significant moment in the country’s architectural history.

Throughout its history, The Red Palace has seen its fair share of grandeur and importance. It hosted international receptions and royal banquets, welcoming heads of state, government officials, and other prominent figures. In fact, it served as the headquarters for the Council of Ministers for over three decades and housed the Court of Grievances until 2002.

And now, the Boutique Group hospitality firm is embarking on a mission to preserve the historical significance of The Red Palace while transforming it into a luxury boutique hotel. Their goal is to create a unique guest experience that combines the palace’s original character with modern elegance.

Once the transformation is complete, The Red Palace will offer an unparalleled experience. Located in the heart of old Riyadh, the palace will feature more than 70 keys, including 26 deluxe rooms, 44 luxury suites, a royal suite, and eight spa suites. For those seeking a royal experience, private butler services will be available.

When the palace re-opens as a hotel in April 2026, it will also have seven public event spaces and five high-end dining outlets, making it a hub for culture, history, and culinary delights.

Boutique Group, a fully owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is dedicated to converting historic and cultural palaces throughout Saudi Arabia into luxurious boutique hotels. Committed to preserving and showcasing the Kingdom’s rich heritage, the group strives to deliver unparalleled and memorable hospitality experiences to its guests.

The group will also transform Riyadh’s Tuwaiq Palace and Jeddah’s Al Hamra Palace into luxury hotels.
