Scheduled to open in 2027, the hotel will be located in Al Baha.

Accor is bringing its Handwritten Collection to Saudi Arabia. The hospitality group’s collection boasts diverse design-led hotels, which offer a personal touch. Scheduled to open in 2027, the first property from Handwritten Collection in Saudi Arabia will be located on the outskirts of Al Baha City.

Al Baha City is set among a mountainous landscape and overlooks the Red Sea coast. Situated on a clifftop above a 1,100-metre-deep valley, the debut of Handwritten Collection in Saudi Arabia will include 148 rooms, three food and drink concepts, banquet facilities and a ballroom.

The Handwritten Collection of properties can be found around the world. The properties are carefully curated spaces, which aim to feel like a home. Today, there are more than properties operating, and 25 properties under development.

Camil Yazbeck Global Chief Development Officer, Premium, Midscaleand Economy brands, Accor, explained: “We designed Handwritten Collection to support the growing number of independent hotels in the midscale segment who are keen to leverage the powerful benefits of a leading global hotel group, while retaining the unique character they have curated. We are very pleased with the extremely positive response to Handwritten Collection from owners and partners in our first year, and we look forward to exploring many more new opportunities for Handwritten Collection globally.”

Paul Stevens, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy brands for Middle East and Africa, added: “Travellers are increasingly seeking authentic stays and a deeper connection with the locale, which Handwritten Collection sets out to embrace. We look forward to seeing the brand continue to grow across the region, uncovering personal stories and creating personalised stays and memories.”

In October 2024, Accor’s Handwritten Collection will open its first property in the Middle East. Located in Istanbul, Levni Istanbul Hotel – Handwritten Collection Türkiye will sit near the Blue Mosque and Sultanahmet Square.
