The initiative promotes the importance of new skills and hobbies.

If you’ve been keen to learn a new hobby or skill, you’re in luck. Saudi Arabia has launched the new Kingdom Quality of Life Program. The programme hopes to transform lives by creating clubs and bringing communities together through hobbies. So, if you want to get a new hobby, here’s what you need to know.

The Kingdom Quality of Life Program is available on Hawi. The slogan is: “If you have a hobby, you have a story”. The aim is to reach more than 6,000 amateur clubs in the country by 2030, which is in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The hope is that if communities take up a hobby, it will improve their quality of life.

On Hawi, participants will take part in an online questionnaire – 13 questions, to be precise – which identifies hobbies that suit your needs. Participants will be invited to take part in various activities.

Lookout for special events that cover a range of interests. The events range from a Comedy Street Club on 25 August to an Art Night from 12 August to 30 November. Plus, World Relaxation Day on 17 August, an Artificial Intelligence show from 7 to 17 August, and White Nights book club on 15 August.

The programme has been developed with the help of government and private sector parties. The initiative was set up by 12 government agencies, which aims to establish amateur clubs and give them support. The services include spaces to practise the hobby, training courses, and financial support.

Happy hobby-ing.
