A slice of California cool arrives in the Red Sea city.
International restaurants are on the rise in Jeddah, from Crustacean and Cipriani to Novikov and ROKA. The latest brand to have made its way to the Red Sea City is Jon and Vinny’s. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the new restaurant brings Italian flavours to La Paz Plaza on Prince Sultan Street.
Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo are the masterminds behind Jon and Vinny’s. The restaurant was created to serve Italian food reminiscent of nonnas—aka Italian grandmas. The casual spot is already popular with celebrities and has been a date night spot for A-list couples. Kim Kardashian Pete Davidson, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, and Jay-Z and Beyoncé are just some of the names who have been spotted sharing slices of pizza. Plus, Kim went so far as to share snaps of her and Pete in the restaurant on her Instagram account.
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the restaurant offers a menu that celebrates authentic regional dishes without the fuss. Highlights include Breakfast Pizza 2.0 with potato, egg, and red onion, Marinara Braised Veal Meatballs, loaded Chopped Salads, and Antipasti Boards. The pizzas, made with 48-hour fermented dough, are perfectly charred for an irresistible flavour. When it comes to pasta, the homemade Rigatoni with six-hour beef bolognese and stunning Spaghetti Limone won the FACT team over in the capital, securing the restaurant ‘Favourite Newcomer – Casual Dining’ at the FACT Dining Awards Riyadh 2024.
For those with a sweet tooth, the offerings are just as tempting, featuring Hazelnut Café Bombolone, Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, fluffy Laban Pancakes, classic Layered Tiramisu, and Nonna’s Lemon Ricotta Cookie.
Jon and Vinny’s Jeddah draws inspiration from its sister restaurants in California, Riyadh, and Ithra, showcasing Jon & Vinny’s signature bold green colour palette with a cosy, minimalist design. Guests will recognise the signature green pizza boxes, high ceilings, softwood accents, and neon signage—all coming together to create a warm, inviting atmosphere with a familiar neighbourhood charm.
Jon and Vinny’s Jeddah is in good culinary company at La Paz Plaza, which already houses the Egyptian eatery Balcona 99, the Lebanese restaurant Villa Fayrouz, and the Parisian café Bo&Mie.
