The launch date and routes for the flying taxis in Abu Dhabi have not yet been confirmed. Test flights of Midnight will take place during the summer, which gives the operators the chance to monitor the country’s extreme temperatures.

The Midnight will be a piloted, four-passenger aircraft, and it is designed to run back-to-back flights. Plus, it will offer Insta-worthy views over the capital – we’re talking views of the skyscrapers, sea and sun.

Nader Al Hammadi, chairman of Abu Dhabi Aviation, explained: “As a leading force in the aviation industry across the region and the largest helicopter operator in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi Aviation has the expertise to develop a scalable urban air mobility service. We are excited to lead the way in launching the region’s electric air taxi service, starting right here in Abu Dhabi”.

The UAE has been welcoming innovative modes of transport. Regent Craft is currently developing seagliders between the two cities. Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport signed an agreement with the company to create electric-powered vehicles.
