Join 30 minutes of activities across 30 days.
On your marks, get set, Dubai. The Dubai Fitness Challenge is back and inspires residents and visitors to undertake 30 minutes of physical and well-being activities across 30 days. Running from 26 October to 24 November, it takes place across the city with a range of exciting events.
In 2017, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Dubai Fitness Challenge. The event is part of his vision to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world. The aim is for people to integrate physical activity into their everyday lives and create a healthier lifestyle.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum explained: “Dubai is a city that recognises the importance of physical, mental and social well-being, and constantly strives to provide everyone opportunities for an active lifestyle. All it takes for you to succeed is an unyielding pledge to enjoy 30 minutes of activity for 30 days. I challenge each and every one of you to embrace your fitness journey and make a difference in your life. Together, let’s make the UAE the most active country in the world.”
Dubai Fitness Challenge brings together a calendar with free sports, community-led fitness events and signature events. The upcoming events include the Dubai Stand-Up Paddle on 2 November, the Dubai Ride on 10 November, and the Dubai Run on 24 November.
The highlights include Dubai Ride and Dubai Run, which take participants across the city’s iconic landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road. In 2023, the event attracted 2.4 million participants. Plus, more than 35,000 cyclists in the Dubai Ride, and 226,000 runners in the Dubai Run.
And, judging my 2023’s events, you may even bump into royalty. At The Dubai Run, The Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, joined the 10-kilometre race.
