The UAE is turning up the volume. Dubai Drum and Bass Festival is coming to the city on 16 November. The British artist Goldie will headline the event, which takes place at P7 Arena, Media One.  

Dubai Drum and Bass Festival brings together a range of artists. The line-up includes DJs Adam Yeomans, Finlay LeFox, Kira and Motion. Emirates DNB presents Bassworx x Signal x Unity’s line-up includes Cruz, Slater and Woodle. Goldie explained: “I’m buzzing to bring that desert heat indoors for Project 174”. 

Goldie, real name Clifford Joseph Price, hails from Walsall, England. He started out breakdancing and later as a graffiti artist. In the 1990s, he was a pioneer in the UK’s drum and bass scene. He released singles under the pseudonym Rufige Kru and co-founded the label Metalheadz. When he moved to the United States, he sold gold grills and earned himself the name Goldilocks. 

Over Goldie’s career, he has released the albums The Journey Man, Timeless and Saturnz Return. His singles include Angel, Digital and Inner City Life. His music combines electronic, jungle, and drum and bass. 

He also starred in films including the James Bond film The World is not Enough, and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch. Plus, he appeared in the BBC soap opera, EastEnders
