Are you a fan of the songs Apologise, Counting Stars and Love Runs Out? Well, you’re in luck as the American rock band behind the hits, OneRepublic, are coming to Abu Dhabi as part of the Off Limits Festival. The concert takes place on Saturday, 26 April at Etihad Park on Yas Island.
OneRepublic hails from Colorado, United States, and went from MySpace musicians to Grammy Award nominees. The members include Ryan Tedder on lead vocals and piano, Zach Filkins and Drew Brown on guitar, Brent Kutzle on bass, Eddie Fisher on drums, and Brian Willett on keyboards.
After forming in 2002, OneRepublic became famous for their alternative rock meets pop music sound. Over their career, they have sold more than 16 million records worldwide. The songs include Rescue Me, Stop and Stare and Wanted. Lead singer Ryan is a successful songwriter, as he has penned lyrics for musical greats, including Adele, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift.
OneRepublic’s gig is part of the Off Limits Festival, which is making its UAE debut this year. The event will also see Ed Sheeran as the headline act, along with Kaiser Chiefs. More artist announcements are expected to follow soon.
One Republic has previously performed in the Middle East. They came to the UAE for the Dubai Jazz Festival in 2013 and returned for the event in 2020. Plus, they performed at AlUla’s Maraya in 2022. The band’s last show at Bla Ba Dubai in 2023 sold out, so put the date in your diary.
