Lights, camera, Saudi. The Red Sea International Film Festival is back for its third edition, and brings a glittering line-up of stars to Jeddah. American actress Halle Berry is the latest name to join the event and host a special talk. 

The date for Halle’s talk has not yet been confirmed, but we do know that it will be part of the in-conversation series. The series also includes Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, Academy Award-winning producer Catherine Martin, Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabri, and Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania. 

Halle Berry hails from Ohio, United States, and shot to fame in beauty pageants. She was the first runner-up in the Miss USA and sixth in Miss World 1986. Her breakthrough role was with Eddie Murphy in the romantic comedy film, Boomerang. She has also starred in Bulworth, Die Another Day, Swordfish and The Flinstones

She made history as the first African American woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress. She later went onto the star in superhero films – she played Storm in the X-Men film franchise, and the title role of Catwoman. Plus, she has worked as a model for the beauty brand Revlon.

The Red Sea International Film Festival showcases talent in the Kingdom, region and beyond. Lookout for screenings, talks and workshops, and events that can be attended by the public. The jury for the event includes Australian director Baz Lurhmann, Indian actress Freida Pinto, Swedish American actor Joel Kinnaman, Egyptian actress Amina Khalil and Spanish actress Paz Vega.

The Red Sea International Film Festival runs from 30 November to 9 December.
