The celebrity-favourite restaurant Il Pastaio is coming to Saudi Arabia. The concept is making its way from Los Angeles to Riyadh. Located in As Sulimaniyah, Il Pastaio Riyadh will showcase Italian food and handmade pastas.
Il Pastaio Riyadh derives its name from the pasta maker, and the restaurant prides itself on creating its own pasta. The Drago family, who hail from Sicily in Italy created the concept. When Giacomino Drago was 11 years old, he was cooking at the family’s restaurant, Portella Gazzana. The brothers Calogero Celestino and Giacomino launched the restaurant together and opened it in Beverly Hills.
Over the years, Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills has made its mark. Celebrities who have been spotted in the restaurant include Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and the Hadid family.
Il Pastaio is no stranger to the Middle East. The restaurant is located at Al Habtoor City in Dubai, UAE. Now, it will be making its debut in Saudi Arabia. While the menu in the Kingdom has not yet been unveiled, diners are in for a tasty treat.
Il Pastaio’s menu showcases authentic Italian flavours with fine and fresh ingredients. On the original menu, it spans classic as well as creative dishes, and ranges from Pumpkin Ravioli to Squid Ink Risotto. Pastas include a Bucatini Con Polpette Della Nonna, Capellini All Checca, Garganelli Con Broccoli and Spaghetti Di Farro. Risottos include a Risotti Nero, Risotto Salsicce and Risotto Verde.
