Don’t panic if you can’t travel to the mountains this festive season. An alpine retreat is about to open at Twiggy by La Cantine.
The Chalet 105 pop-up returns to Twiggy by La Cantine on Sunday, 1 December and will satisfy all of your winter cravings. Located in one of the venue’s large cabanas, the pop-up, in collaboration with Mont Blanc, boasts a chic winter cabin decorated with skis, candles, and stacks of logs.
The transformation into an alpine escape is impressive. The quaint and charming interiors feature a roaring fireplace, cow-skin rugs, and slatted wooden walls with mountain vistas traced upon the windows. Statement Montblanc watches and pens are housed in glass cases to showcase the luxury European Maison, which takes its name from the snow-capped mountain.
White tablecloths and chairs draped in sheepskin set the tone for cosy winter comfort, matched only by the warm hospitality and hearty alpine cuisine. The culinary experience (starting at AED 425 per person) features a selection of Savoie-inspired cuisine that begins with a glass of spiced mulled grape for all the festive feels.
The menu has been designed for sharing and features a thick chestnut soup adorned with truffle that is followed by a bubbling Fondue Savoyarde. The hearty mixture of Comté, Beaufort and Tomme de Savoie cheese is kept warm by a small burner and accompanied by a green salad and plenty of bread for dipping.
Keeping the enjoyment level high, the next course is raclette, where melted cheese is scraped onto a bed of potatoes. Guest will also be served a charcuterie platter featuring a trio of meats accompanied by pickles and mustard.
The fun at Chalet 105 continues well into the dessert course, where the savoury cheese fondue is exchanged for a sweet chocolate variation. Expect fruits, marshmallows and cream-filled profiteroles for dipping in a decadent festive experience that will leave you well and truly stuffed.
